Thanks to all who attended our GotoMeeting virtual meeting. For those that didn't, consider joining us live next time so you can ask questions and provide comments. We meet every 2nd Wednesday (we recently changed from every 1st Tuesday) at 7:00pm so check in with us and be a part of the discussion.
Here's what you missed:
Thanks to our Sponsors
First and foremost we always thank our sponsors - PowerDNN for hosting ChicagoDNN.org as well as paying for food and drink during our face-to-face meetings and J&S Tech Designs for providing the GotoMeeting so we can meet virtually. This time, we visited PowerDNN.com to look at their home page.
Industry News, DNNcon past and future
Jim Nagy of Sprocket Websites walked through the latest news from DNN Corporate, showed our own list of Social Platforms where you can find Chicago DNN, and encouraged folks to participate in the discussion, while I gave a quick overview of DNNcon, held in Palm Beach Florida last month, followed by a brief discussion of a possible Chicago Style DNN convention in the Spring.
Clint Patterson: DNN v7.2
Clint, from DNN Corporate, visited our meeting to share highlights of the enhancements coming later this month in version 7.2 of the DNN Platform.
Clint Patterson: DNN Platform's Social Functions
Clint was originally scheduled to demonstrate the social functions that you get as part of the core DNN Platform, and after he shared the v7.2 scoops, he delivered on the discussion of social modules. Thanks Clint!
David Risner: Bravo Squared
David, from Blue Bolt Solutions and Packflash demonstrated a new system they've developed called Bravo Squared, a very sophisticated content searching mechanism, as illustrated on a client's medical documentation websites. Very cool, David!
Join us next month, December 11, the 2nd Wednesday, for a virtual meeting. Our theme is "Good Will to Men, with DNN" - with samples of how DNN helps the world, be it government sites, non-profits, the arts, and other non-salesy websites. See you in December!
