February 2015 Meeting Recap

Videos and Notes - 7.4 release, Action Form Case Study

Welcome to February! Jim and I report on the latest DNN news and dive into a project using Action Form and Grid.

Introductions and News

First, I started the meeting thanking sponsors as always. A big thanks to J&S Tech Designs for providing the GoToMeeting we use for our virtual meetings. And a big thanks to Managed.com, who host ChicagoDNN.org and also provide food and drinks when we meet face to face.

Then Jim shared some DNN going's on, including the release of version 7.4 of the DNN Platform, and some upcoming webinars from DNN Corporate.

Tech Talk: Applying Action Form and Grid

Sprocket developed a website for the Love is Murder Writer's Conference which happens each February. We used a registration system that was on the DNN Store, but ran into a problem with it. The module developer had stopped supporting the module and we had to try another alternative, so we went old school and built our own, using Action Form to collect the attendee's info, and Action Grid to manager the list of attendees. I walk you through the screens and how we applied these great modules to the task.

See you all next month! Of course, until then, why not comment on what we posted here and start a conversation? We'd love to hear from you.
